ll, the nail bed can have different shapes

ell, the nail bed can have different shapes due to the fact that it suits a person’s finger anatomy. The lunula is also an important thing to consider when choosing the best nail shape. However, there is one simple rule that you should follow when having the lunula as reference point. Therefore, if the lunula of your nail is round-shaped, the nails should be rounded too, but if the lunula is squared, the nails should have a squared-shape also.

Based on the nail bed, nail shape can vary from one individual to another. If the nail bed is wider and shorter, you should opt for square nails, but make sure you keep the edges round. On the other hand, if you have a big and long nail bed, it is preferable to choose square shape slightly rounded at the corners.

A square shape is flattering if the lunula is squared and the length should be chosen proportionally to the length of the nail bed. For nails with long and narrow nail bed, it is more appropriate to select a pointed shape. However, if the lunula is square and the nail bed is long, opt for square nails with rounded edges. Oval nail beds are the merriest since they can suit almost everything.

You can also find the best nail shape based on the shape and size of your fingers. Therefore, square nails look great on narrow, long fingers, while pointed nails flatter smaller hands and fingers. If you have short nails, opt for a round shape, while oval is universally flattering, but it mostly flatters wide, short fingers. If your nails have different shapes, square is the best. There is also another shape called squoval that works on short, wide fingers or big, long fingers. You should follow the natural line of your nails and keep them rather short, without edges, if your hands and fingers are wider.
