Usama bin Laden, mastermind behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks in which thousands of Americans were killed, was slain in a firefight Sunday with U.S. forces in Pakistan, ending a terror that spanned a horrible decade. President Barack Obama made a dramatic announcement at the White House. "Justice has been done," A crowd of thousands gathered outside the White House as news of bin Laden's death spread. Hundreds of people were singing with joy and waved American flags at Ground Zero in New York — it is the place where the twin towers that once considered as symbols of American economic power. These towers were brought down by bin Laden's hijackers 10 years ago. U.S. officials said the helicopter raid in Pakistan was carried out by CIA paramilitaries together with the elite Navy SEAL Team Six.Bin Laden's remains are taken under custody by the ,U.S. team , which Am,erican officials s,aid were being, handled in acco,rdance with Islam,,ic tradition.
